Part-Time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor |

Positions available in Lewis Counties – 10 hours per week. Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to provide support to pregnant and delivered mothers to help them reach their breastfeeding goals. Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, ability to travel within and outside of the county, and on-call availability are required. Full-Time Nurse Practitioner(s) |

Full-time opening(s) - anticipated start date in early 2012. North Country Children's Clinic is expanding services to include adult primary care and seeks a nurse practitioner to work in an adult primary care or school-based health setting. The adult care NP would provide well, acute and chronic care to patients over age 21 in our Primary Care offices on Arsenal Street in Watertown. The school-based health center NP would provide well, acute and chronic care to school-aged children in our school-based health centers in the Watertown area. Physician collaborators support both positions.
Duties include but are not limited to - Evaluation and documentation of patient health status; assessing, diagnosing, managing and coordinating patient health status; maintaining accurate patient health records; providing guidance to patient and/or parent concerning health, development and health promotion; carrying out or modifying immunization plans; recommending and selecting appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and regimes; performing, interpreting and monitoring laboratory tests; and assessing client/family need for intra and inter-agency referrals. The NP participates in the clinic on-call system by taking calls from parents or patients when necessary and referring them to the on-call pediatrician or general practitioner. North Country Children’s Clinic’s focus is on prevention and improvement of care. Patient outcomes are critical to our performance measures. We collaborate with private physicians, mental health workers, school nurses and others in managing the health care of the patient.
Paid benefits are the same for either position: paid malpractice insurance up to $1,200/year; paid NP license; paid NYSNP membership; paid DEA, paid CPR certification of $40/required cycle and $750/year for Continuing Ed of 4 CEUs. NCCC provides medical, dental, life, disability insurance which is partially paid by the employer. We also offer a 403(b) plan.
The adult care FNP would be a full-time position however, the School Based Health Center FNP would be a 10 month/year position as they follow the school calendar. Differences in salary and time off exist due to the 12 month vs. 10 month arrangement. Current NYS certification. Current Nurse Practitioner certification by a national certifying body preferred.
